Youth Arts
The arts have the power to inspire young people, regardless of their backgrounds. Artworks’ Youth Arts Programme listens to young people and develops projects, which allow them to have a powerful voice. Working with musicians, rappers, dancers and artists, our performance and mentoring programmes specialise in engaging disaffected young people and motivating them to succeed in life.
Artworks’ Youth Arts strand will:
- Develop and deliver programmes which use the arts to engage young people in alternative education
- Provide a range of evening, weekend and holiday activities for young people from across the district
- Expand our family learning programme to work with a wider range of communities

- Youth Music Mentors
Music is incredibly important for many young people. Listening to music can be a way of escaping from difficult situations and understanding the experiences of others, performing to others and expressing themselves can often be a source of comfort and inspiration.
- Savile Town Graffiti Project
The project aimed to draw young people away from using graffiti in an anti-social way and to break down barriers between different groups.
- Creative Together
A four year family learning programme funded by the Big Lottery Fund: Family Learning
