Events Management
Artworks have an exciting creative innovative approach to any event, with our breadth of experience of developing creative projects we can tailor any event to your needs. We can provide workshops with highly skilled artists to create the theme for your event and manage the project from recruiting groups, overseeing the artists and coordinating any community involvement in either a small or large scale.
In 2008 Bradford Metropolitan District Council’s events team wanted to do something a little different from a traditional Christmas lights switch on. They approached Artworks to organise a lantern procession. We worked with a team or artists to produce a programme of lantern making workshops with children from several primary schools and a brownie guide pack. Open workshops were held at the impressions gallery to enable anyone to take part. Two Artworks artists created the magnificent dragon’s head which lead the parade of over 100 children and parents carrying the lanterns they had created in the form of stars, angels and bells. The procession snaked through the city centre into Centenary Square.
